If you know somebody going to jail in California they just might be going to the Santa Rosa County Jail. Jail is never nice, but knowing what to expect can help people get through their time without incident. County jails are not as violent as prisons and you probably won’t experience much violence (unless you are in a jail with huge gang populations).

This doesn’t mean that you should back down if somebody confronts you – just remember that you should stand up for yourself and not show weakness. Remember, if you are caught fighting you could both have time added to your sentence. It’s in everybody’s best interest to avoid violence behind bars.
